Bus Accessibility

Low Floor Access

All our Bwcabus vehicles buses are low floor, wide step free entrances and built for easy-access, making it quicker and simpler for wheelchair users, pushchairs, shopping trollies, luggage or those will impaired mobility.

Wheelchair Access

All our Bwcabus vehicles have a dedicated area for wheelchair users. Wheelchair users have priority. If a pushchair or buggy is occupying the wheelchair space, the driver will ask that the buggy is folded. Aisles and gangways must be kept clear at all times. Whilst the vehicles are fully DDA compliant there is a restriction on some wheelchairs and the bus can only carry one wheelchair at any given time. Please contact the call centre for further information.

Buggies and Pushchair

Buggies and pushchairs are welcome on board our vehicles. Please note there is limited space for buggies on board our vehicles.  If there is a wheelchair or another buggy occupying the wheelchair space, the driver may ask you to fold it. For safety reasons please ensure you don’t block the aisles and gangways.

Assistance Dogs and Pets

We want to make travelling easy for you, so we make sure that all recognised assistance animals travel for free on all vehicles. Including:

  • Guide dogs for the blind
  • Hearing dogs for deaf people
  • Disabled support dogs
  • Canine partners for independence

Don’t hesitate to let the driver know if you are partially sighted or require assistance to identify your destination.

In addition, dogs and small pets are allowed to travel on our vehicles on the condition that:

  1. They are kept in a pet carrying cage at all times and
  2. They are well behaved.

This is in the interest of passenger safety and hygiene.

Please ensure you notify call centre when making your booking.

Folding Bicycles

Folding bicycles are welcome on board our buses. Please make sure they are folded and not blocking the aisles or access to any seats.

Please note there maybe instances when it may not be possible to accept folding bikes:

  • If there isn’t enough space on the bus
  • When your folding bicycle could make the inside of the bus or its seats dirty, or could cause discomfort to other customers

Due to space and safety, standard non-folding bicycles cannot be carried on our buses.
